A newly created political party- the Alternative Party of Bodoland (APB), has emerged with a commitment to humanity’s welfare and regional development. APB is expected to increase the competition against the 2 prominent Political Parties of BTR, the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) and the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL).

Alternative Party Of Bodoland | A New Political Party In Bodoland
On April 2, 2025, a general meeting was held in Borobari village, located in Baksa District. Dr. Anjali Daimary, a former member of the BPF, led the meeting. During this gathering, Dr. Daimary and her team announced the formation of a new political party called the Alternative Party of Bodoland (APB). This party was established under the guidance of the ex-NDFB United Forum and aims to promote the welfare and development of the common people in the Bodoland region.
The APB party has also announced its leadership designations. Dr. Anjali Daimary has been appointed as the President, Pradip Kumar Brahma (retired DIG) as the General Secretary (Administration), and Jagadish Basumatary as the General Secretary (Organisation). The party’s leadership consists of 28 members, all dedicated to introducing fresh political perspectives and governance strategies for the region.
