Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal: The Assam Education Minister, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, along with the officials of Directorate of Higher Education of Assam have launched the Samarth – An online admission portal for the UG admission on 14 June 2023. Samarth portal will streamline the admission process of all State Universities and Govt-aided colleges across the state.

SAMARTH Admission Portal 2023
The Directorate of Higher Education Assam has launched SAMARTH Admission Portal on 14 June 2023. SAMARTH Admission Portal is a common application portal of Assam where students can apply online for admission to undergraduate courses in the state universities (affiliated colleges). On this portal, students can submit admission applications for undergraduate courses like BA, BSc, Bcom etc.
The Assam State Higher Education Portal or SAMARTH egov Portal will provide a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the state, especially for rural and other remote areas and help establish better connections with the universities.
Like Samarth Portal, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) have launched “Darpan Online Admission Portal” on 2021 for admission into Higher secondary courses for the Class 10 pass students. On the same note, the Assam govt has launched the admission portal (Samarth) for the graduate courses.

To date, the Samarth eGov Portal has listed out the 15 state universities where class 12 pass-out students can apply for taking admission into the colleges for their undergraduate course.
Each universities have its own affiliated colleges where the students can seek admission. With the introduction of the Samarth ePortal, students don’t have to physically visit the college for admission, they can register at Samarth and apply at the college where he/she wants to take admission.

Assam Admission Fee Waiver Scheme
In the Govt-aided colleges, there are fee waiver scheme for certain category of students. To avail the fee waiver scheme, the govt has mandate that all deserving students can avail of the fee waiver scheme only when the students apply through the SAMARTH portal. Because the fee waiver scheme will be linked to the Samarth e Gov Suite.
