Ayurvedic Course

There are five Ayurvedic courses; however, we will only include those available in Assam as per the Assam Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital Courses. The two Ayurvedic courses are:

  1. Undergraduate: Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
  2. Post-Graduation: MD/MS (Ayur)

BAMS Course

The BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) program is an undergraduate course that trains students in the ancient system of Ayurvedic medicine, emphasizing holistic health practices. The program lasts 5.5 years, which includes a mandatory one-year rotating internship.

Throughout the course, students learn to diagnose and treat various ailments using natural, plant-based remedies and Ayurvedic techniques, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the human body and its balance.

Graduates of the BAMS program have numerous career opportunities, including practising as Ayurvedic doctors or working in research, pharmaceutical companies, and wellness centres. To pursue the BAMS course, students must complete their class 12 exams and pass the NEET entrance exam.

MD/MS (Ayurveda) Course

The MD/MS (Ayurveda) is a postgraduate program for practitioners of Ayurvedic medicine who wish to specialize in advanced studies and gain a deeper understanding of specific areas within Ayurvedic science. The course lasts three years and covers various disciplines, including Ayurvedic surgery, Panchakarma, internal medicine, and Ayurvedic pharmacology.

To be eligible for the MD/MS (Ayurveda) program, students must complete the BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) degree.

Ayurvedic Admission Notice

BAMS Admission 2025 Notification

The admission process for the BAMS course is done through the NEET UG entrance exam. The NEET UG 2025 registration is expected to begin in the 1st week of Feb 2025. Students of Assam seeking admission at the BAMS colleges in Assam will get admission based on the NEET score mark and NEET merit list 2025 Assam. Check out the admission notice of BAMS 2023, as the notification 2024 is unavailable.

MD/MS (Ayurveda) Admission 2025 Notification

The admission process for the MD/MS (Ayurveda) program is conducted through the AIAPGET entrance exam. AIAPGET stands for All India AYUSH Postgraduate Entrance Test and is essential for admission to Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy postgraduate courses.
