On 28 June 2023, Akash Deep, an IAS (RR-2005), took over the charge of Principal Secretary of BTC. He was Commissioner and Secretary to the government of Assam for the Environment and Forest Department, and Development Commissioner of Hill Areas, and State Project Director, of ARIAS Society.
