About ASSEB – Assam State School Education Board
The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) was established under the Assam State School Education Board Act, 2024, by merging the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), and the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHEC).
ASSEB officially commenced operations on 13 September 2024. The inaugural ceremony marked the oath taking of key officials, including Sri R.C Jain, IAS (Retd.), Chairman, ASSEB, Sri Rukma Gohain Baruah, Vice-Chairman. Following the merger, SEBA has been re-designated as Division I, and AHSEC as Division II within ASSEB.
