Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Bodoland 2023: Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) is a government school created under the central government scheme that gives FREE quality education to the girls from the age group of 10-18 years of SC/ST/OBC/Minority Community and BPL families. A total of 11 KGBV have been established in BTR Region.

What is Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya?

The Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) is a scheme, launched by the Indian Government in 2004 for setting up residential schools for girls belonging to the SC/ST/OBC and minorities in backward areas (educationally backward blocks of the district).

The government of India launched KGBV to make the education system more responsive to the needs of girls. The KGBV scheme provides education for girls in the age group of 10-18 years belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Minority Community and BPL families.

Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Bodoland

Since Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya school is a central scheme, the school has been set up across India in many locations, once such location we are going to discuss here is the Bodoland.

Bodoland officially known as Bodoland Territorial Region in short BTR is an autonomous region having four districts of Assam under its jurisdiction. These four districts of BTR are shared below:
