Santosh Trophy in Kokrajhar: The premier National Football championship – Santosh Trophy 2022-23 edition, has already started in different parts of the country. For the first time, Bodoland (Officially BTR) got the opportunity to host the historic national football event, Santosh Trophy. Kokrajhar will host the group 3 matches in two stadiums (SAI and KDSA) from 28 Dec 2022 to 5 Jan 2023.

Today, 5th Jan 2023, is the last day of the game, where all the teams will play their best to up their score in the leaderboard. Nagaland is leading with 10 points, followed by Goa at 8 points and 7 points Uttar Pradesh. Whoever wins today’s game, either Nagaland, Goa, or
Uttar Pradesh will be the top scorer in the Group 3 matches, making entry into the next round of the knockout stages.
Santosh Trophy
Santosh Trophy is a National Football Competition in India. In this championship, all the states, union territories, and a few government institutions like railways football team and services football team participate. Santosh Trophy is also known as Hero Senior Mens national Football.
Santosh Trophy has been held annually before independence since 1941. Bengal was the first to lift the trophy in 1941. The trophy was named after the former president of the Indian Football Association (IFA), Sir Manmatha Nath Roy Chowdhury. He was also the Maharaja of Santosh (a place in Bangladesh now).
This year, 76th Santosh Trophy is being played at different places in India. The matches are divided into six groups, with all groups having 6 teams in it except group four which has only 5 teams with them. There are 35 teams representing all the states and union territories except union territory – ‘Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu’ is not playing.
Santosh Trophy in Korkajhar
For the first time in Bodoland, and the first time in Kokrajhar, the biggest Football event – 76th Hero National Championship Santosh Trophy 2022-23 Group III is happening.
After successfully hosting the first ISPL 2022, Kokrajhar got the biggest opportunity to host the Mega National Football Event – the 76th Santosh Trophy. Let’s all welcome the Santosh Trophy in Kokrajhar.
The AIFF President, Kalyan Chaubey, visited Kokrajhar during the ISPL 2022 match. He was quite impressed with the quality of the Football players and matches being played here and the packed- enthusiastic crowd.
The AIFF offered Bodoland, i.e., Kokrajhar, to host the Group three match of the ongoing Santosh Trophy competition. The group 3 match started on 28 Dec 2022 and will continue till 5 Jan 2023. The following are the six teams of group three.
The group three match is jointly organized by the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Assam Football Association (AFA), and All India Football Federation (AIFF).

The organizing committee has used the following two playgrounds in Kokrajhar for the ongoing Santosh Trophy for the Group III matches.
