The new campus of Bodoland University was supposed to be established in 2021 and become operational by 2022, with faculty members being recruited. During the 57th ABSU Annual Conference in 2025, the Assam government made a significant announcement alongside Union Minister Amit Shah. A new Bodoland University campus will be set up within BTR in Udalguri district. This initiative was announced to boost the development of the education and youth sector in the BTR region.
