Chirang District: Chirang is one of the five districts of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), run by the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and the Assam governments.
The Chirang district was created (carved out) from the erstwhile Kokrajhar, Bongaigaon, and Barpeta districts as part of the BTAD agreement on 4 June 2004. The district headquarter is in Kajalgaon.
