About CLAT 2026

CLAT full form is Common Law Admission Test. The exam is also accepted by several private universities and PSUs for recruitment purposes.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2026

CLAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria: The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLUs) has prescribed specific eligibility criteria for candidates appearing in CLAT 2026. Applicants must fulfill the following requirements for UG and PG law programs:

For UG Program (5-Year Integrated LLB)

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Minimum Marks Required:
    • General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI: 45% marks
    • SC/ST: 40% marks
  • Age Limit:
    • There is no upper age limit for CLAT 2026.
  • Appearing Candidates:
    • Students appearing for the qualifying examination in March/April 2026 are also eligible, provided they submit proof of qualification at the time of admission.

For PG Program (LLM)

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Candidates must hold an LLB or equivalent law degree from a recognized university.
  • Minimum Marks Required:
    • General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI: 50% marks
    • SC/ST: 45% marks
  • Age Limit:
    • There is no upper age limit for CLAT 2026.
  • Appearing Candidates:
    • Those appearing in the final year of their LLB or equivalent degree program can also apply, subject to submission of proof of qualification at the time of admission.

Note: Candidates failing to meet the eligibility criteria at the time of admission will be disqualified, even if they have cleared CLAT 2026.

Candidates applying for the CLAT 2026 examination are required to pay a non-refundable application fee as part of the registration process.

How to Apply for Common Law Admission Test 2026?

  1. Go to the CLAT 2026 official website: https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in/
  2. Search and Click on the “CLAT 2026” option and complete the registration process.
  3. After completing the Registration Process log in to the portal using the registered mobile number and password. 
  4. Fill out the application form by entering all the correct details.
  5. Upload all the required documents in the specified format.
  6. Pay the fee through the online payment mode to complete the application process.
  7. Once the application process is done print the downloaded form

Required Documents

  • Passport-size recent photograph with a plain background.
  • Signature of the candidate.
  • Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC).
  • Relevant certificate (P.W.D).
  • Relevant certificate (BPL).

NOTE:

  • The original certificates/documents issued by the competent authority as specified in the brochure are to be submitted to the allotted University in the form and manner specified by the respective universities at the time of admission.
  • The photograph and signature of the candidate need not be attested while submitting the Online Application Form.

CLAT 2026 Admit Card

The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLUs) will release the CLAT 2026 admit card a few weeks before the examination date (7 December 2025). Candidates who have successfully completed their registration and paid the application fee will be able to download the admit card from the official CLAT website: consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2026/
