PM USP Scholarship 2023 Notification: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a Central Scholarship Notification for Central Sector Scholarship for College and University students for the year 2023-24. Under this Central Sector Scholarship Scheme, the Central Govt provides financial assistance to meritorious students from poor families to meet a part of their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies
The scholarships are awarded by Ministry of Education, Government of India on the basis of results of Higher Secondary/Class XII Board Examination. A maximum of 82,000 fresh scholarships per annum are provided for pursuing graduate and postgraduate degrees in colleges and universities and for professional courses, such as Medical, Engineering etc.
Interested and eligible students can apply online application through the official portal of the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) i.e. http://scholarships.gov.in.

CBSE Central Sector Scholarship Eligibility
To be eligible for Central Sector Scheme for Scholarship, candidates must be between 18-25 years old and must meet the eligibility criteria as shared below:
- Students must have completed class 12 with a minimum of 80% marks
- The students must be enrolled in regular degree courses and not correspondence or distance mode or pursuing Diploma courses.
- Students must not avail themselves of the benefit of any other scholarship schemes including State-run Scholarship schemes fee waivers & reimbursement schemes.
- Students with gross parental/family income up to Rs. 4.5 lakh per annum are eligible for scholarships under the scheme.
How To Apply CBSE Central Sector Scholarship?
PM USP Scholarship Registration: As per the Central Sector Scholarship Notification 2023-24, the online applications are accepted online through National Scholarship Portal at www.scholarships.gov.in. The online application link was opened on 1 October 2023 and the last date for online application is 31 December 2023. To complete the online application process follow the below-mentioned steps:
- Go to NSP Official Portal @www.scholarships.gov.in
- Before applying applicants need to register with NSP as new users.
- Fill out the registration form carefully.
- After Completing the Registration process log in by using your application ID and Password
- Now follow the instructions step by step and complete the application process.
Central Scholarship Scheme Renewal Policy
The beneficiaries of this are eligible to receive the scholarship for a maximum period of 5 years which includes both graduation and post graduation period. The candidates must be pursuing graduation and post-graduation in the same stream. Moreover, the candidates must fulfil the prescribed eligibility criteria in order to get the scholarship renewed.
- The students must have secured minimum 50% of marks
- Minimum 75% attendance is mandatory
- They can apply on NSP for renewal of this merit-cum-means scholarship.
CBSE Central Sector Scholarship Amount
Graduation:
- Rs. 12,000/-per annum at the Graduation level for the first three years of College and University courses.
- Students pursuing professional courses, in case, where the duration of the course is five (5) years/Integrated course will get ₹20,000/-per annum in the 4th and 5th year.
- Students pursuing technical courses such as B.Tech, B.Engg. will get scholarship up to graduation level only i.e. ₹12,000 p.a. for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year and ₹20,000 in the 4th year.
Post Graduation:
- Rs. 20,000 per annum at the post-graduation level.
