In a significant achievement at the National Games 2023, three female boxers from Boro community have brought pride to Assam.
Ankushita Boro clinched the gold in the women’s 62-66 KG Welterweight category, while Pwilao Basumatary and Kampi Boro secured bronze medals in the 70-75kg Middleweight and 48-50kg Light Fly category, respectively. These athletes are the only ones from Assam contributing to the medal count in the boxing category this year at the 37th National Games 2023 Goa.
Assam has made its mark at the National Games 2023 medal standings, securing the 12th position with a total of 56 medals – 14 gold, 20 silver, and 22 bronze.
