The Jwhwlao Nileswar Brahma Cultural Award 2023 is awarded to Sri Rajani Swargiary. The award felicitation function will be organized soon for the same.
Presented every year to individuals who have dedicated themselves to the development of Bodo culture, the award includes a memento, citation, and check for Rs. 2 lakh.
Meeting & Selection of the Awardee
On March 20th, the jury committee met at the secretary’s chamber in the Cultural Affairs Department of BTC, Kokrajhar, to discuss and scrutinize the profiles of the nominees and make a decision.
The meeting was presided over by Dithaka Nanda Hazarika, ACS, Secretary, Cultural Affairs Department, BTC, Kokrajhar, and Pami Brahma, ACS, Joint Secretary cum CHD, Cultural Affairs Department, BTC, Kokrajhar, explained the purpose of the meeting. After a frank discussion and careful evaluation of the nominees’ profiles, the meeting unanimously recommended Rajani Swargiary from Lechera village in the Baksa district as the prestigious award recipient.

Rajani Swargiary is a well-known Bodo artist who dedicated his life to preserving and promoting the Bodo culture. He has significantly contributed to the Bodo community through his work as an artist, musician, and cultural activist.
