About Football Club Goa
Football Club Goa (FCG) is a professional football team from India, based in Goa. They play in the Indian Super League, which is the top football league in India. The club was founded on 26th August 2014 and is known as Gaurs.
The club’s logo represents the Gaur, which is the state animal of Goa and the colours blue and orange in the logo represent the Goan coastline and sunrise.
The owners of FCG are Jaydev Mody, Akshay Tandon, and Indian Cricketer Virat Kohli. The club is known for its youth development system, producing talented players like Saviour Gama and Princeton Rebello.
Football Club Goa is the first Indian sports club to have its own TV channel, FC Goa TV, on Videocon D2H.
The club also has a reserve team that plays in the I-League 2nd Division and a women’s team formed in 2018. They also have youth teams participating in various football tournaments for different age groups.
