Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for AAU Teacher Recruitment 2025 includes educational qualifications, age limits, etc, which are discussed in details below.

Educational Qualification

For Senior Scientist/ Breeder & Senior Scientist (Under AICRP/AINP)

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture.
• Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA in the relevant discipline.
• Ph.D degree in the relevant field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching, research, or extension.
• At least 5 research publications.
• Minimum API score as per AAU Jorhat norms.

For Assistant Professor & Equivalent

• Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field (as per post requirement).
• Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA in the relevant discipline.
• For Food Technology: Bachelor’s degree in Science or equivalent with a Master’s degree in Food Technology/ Food Science & Technology/ Food Engineering/ Dairy Technology/ Agricultural Process Engineering or equivalent.
• Qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) (waived for Ph.D. holders).
• Minimum Academic Performance Indicator (API) score as per AAU norms.

For Associate Professor & Equivalent

• Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field (as per post requirement).
• Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA in the relevant discipline.
• Ph.D degree in the relevant field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching, research, or extension.
• At least 5 research publications.
• Minimum Academic Performance Indicator (API) score as per AAU Jorhat norms.

Age Limit

• Senior Scientist: Maximum 47 years
• Assistant Professor: Maximum 38 years
• Associate Professor: Maximum 47 years
• Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules.

Salary

For teacher positions at Assam Agricultural University (AAU) Jorhat, the salary ranges vary depending on the level and experience, with Assistant Professors earning between Rs. 57,700 to 1,82,400 per month (Level 10 in Pay Matrix, 7th Pay) and Senior Scientists/Breeders earning between Rs. 1,31,400 to 2,17,100 (Level 13A in Pay Matrix, 7th Pay).
