Kalinga Super Cup 2024 Schedule: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has announced that the 4th edition of the Kalinga Super Cup is set to kick off on January 9, 2024. The tournament matches will be held at two different venues in the state of Odisha.

The winner of each group will progress to the semi-finals, leading up to the final scheduled for January 28, 2024.

The Kalinga Super Cup India 2024 winner will get the opportunity to compete in the AFC Champions League 2 Preliminary Stage of 2024-25 season.

Kalinga Super Cup Group Stage 2024

Kalinga Super Cup 2024 Draw Format: The Kalinga Super Cup teams 2024 were divided into four pots. The 12 Indian Super League teams were placed in Pots 1-3 based on their points in the ISL 2023-24 standings as of 17 December 2023. At the same time, Pot 4 was specifically for the three I-League teams.

The Kalinga Super Cup will feature participation from five I-League teams, based on their matches performance in the I-League 2023-24 standings until December 24, 2023, the top three teams will directly qualify for the group stage as I-League 1, I-League 2, and I-League 3.

Meanwhile, the teams ranking 4th and 5th will compete in a single-leg qualifying match on January 9 to decide the fourth team (I-League 4) in the group stage. Without going through the draw pot, I-League 4 has automatically claimed a spot in Group D.

What is the teams format for Kalinga Super Cup?

For the Kalinga Super Cup 2024 format, participating clubs can sign up to six foreign players for their matchday squad. Matches begin with a maximum of six foreign players on the field, but if more than five are chosen, at least one must be from an AFC Member Association country.

The Indian Super League clubs gets direct entry, while I-League clubs need to go through qualifiers.

The tournament consists of sixteen teams, grouped into four sets of four clubs each for the initial stage. The winners of each group move on to the semi-finals, leading to the final.
