1. How many universities are there in BTR?
BTR currently has only one operational university, Bodoland University. However, the region is set to welcome a new university, as the Kokrajhar Govt College has been upgraded to the Kokrajhar University, which is under development. The foundation stone for the university’s administrative building was laid on January 28, 2025, and the university is expected to become functional soon.
2. How many Medical Colleges are there in BTR?
BTR currently has one medical college, the Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital. The BTR CEM, Pramod Boro, also laid the foundation for a new medical institute—the Paramedical and Nursing Institute in Tamulpur. With these developments, BTR will soon have two medical colleges in the region.
