Kokrajhar Govt College established in 1959 is the oldest college in the Korkajhar district. It offers Arts and Science stream courses to the students. The college takes admission for HS, UG, and PG courses and even certificate courses too. They also have an IGNOU study center, wherein students can take different courses of IGNOU via Kokrajhr Govt. Kokrajhar Govt College University Upgradation
The Kokrajhar Government College established in 1959 is currently affiliated with Bodoland University, Kokrajhar. Before the establishment of Bodoland University, it was affiliated with Gauhati University.
Soon the Kokrajhar govt. college is going to be upgraded to the University status.
The Assam CM, Himanta Biswa Sharma on 18 Dec 2021 informed via a Twitter page that the Kokrajhar Govt College will be converted into a University.
After the Assam CM announcement, the CEM of BTC, Pramod Boro on 4 Feb 2022 shared an update via tweet, “Held a joint meeting with the Kokrajhar Govt. College Teacher’s Association & officials of Education Dept, BTC regarding the recent announcement of upgrading Kokrajhar Government College to a University.
Discussed several key issues pertaining to the process of Upgrading.”
