Personal Life
Sarbananda Sonowal was born on October 31, 1962, in Muluk Gaon, Dibrugarh district in Assam. His parents were Jibeswar Sonowal (father) and Dineswari Sonowal (mother).
Education: Sonowal went to Don Bosco High School in Dibrugarh. Later, he completed his B.A. Honours in English from Dibrugarh Hanumanbax Surajmall Kanoi College under Dibrugarh University. He also completed his LLB from Dibrugarh University and B.C.J from Gauhati University.
Career and Politics
Sarbananda Sonowal was the President of the All Assam Students Union (AASU) from 1992 to 1999. He then became a member of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) from 2001 to 2011 before joining the BJP in 2011.
