The BTC govt of the BTR Region started the Kokrajhar Litfest in 2021-22 and this year, it’ll be the 3rd time. It’s the biggest literary festival of the Bodoland. The 3rd Kokrajhar Litfest is scheduled to be held from 27 to 29 January 2024. The theme of the third Kokrajhar Lit Fest 2024 is “Exploring Boundless Horizons: The Native Narrates”
The three-day-long 3rd edition of the Kokrajhar Literary Festival will be held at Bodofa Cultural Complex in the Kokrajhar district under the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) administration. According to the organizing committee, there will be cash prizes with a trophy in each separate category, while the Gaurang River Literary Prize 2024 will also be awarded.

Why Celebrate the Kokrajhar Literary Festival?
To celebrate the magic of the written word, the Government of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and the organizers of the 3rd Kokrajhar Literary Festival announced the creation of the Gaurang River Literary Prize. Each year, during the Kokrajhar Literary Festival, a full-length work of fiction and another of narrative non-fiction will be bestowed with this honor. The prize includes a cash award of Rs. 50,000/- and a trophy.
True to the rich traditions of creativity and acknowledging the long and chequered history of Bodoland, the Gaurang River Literary Prize will celebrate works that are a medley of brilliant craft, rich analysis, and socially concerned storytelling that responds to our times.
Novels and narrative non-fiction works originally published in English or translated into English will be considered for the prize. The winning books will be announced on 29 January 2024 during the Kokrajhar Literary Festival at Kokrajhar, Bodoland Territorial Region.
