APSC Syllabus 2024 Prelims & Mains: The APSC Combined Competitive Examination (APSC CCE) is a prestigious civil service examination of Assam. It is conducted to recruit candidates for various administrative positions within the state government.

The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) conducts numerous exams to hire Group B and Group C officers. The commission also conducts the Combined Competitive Exam (CCE) to select candidates for a variety of government positions in Assam.

APSC Prelims Syllabus & Exam Pattern

APSC CCE Exam Pattern 2024: The APSC CCE Prelims is the first stage of the Assam Public Service Commission Exam. The APSC CCE Prelims exam comprises two compulsory papers of 200 marks each (General Studies – I and General Studies – II). The questions will be of multiple-choice, objective type. The marks in prelims will not be counted for the final ranking, it is just for qualification for the main exam.

APSC Prelims Syllabus

APSC CCE Prelims exam consists of two general studies papers, each with 100 objective-type questions carrying 200 total marks.

General Studies Paper I

Syllabus for APSC Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination:

  1. Current events of national and international importance.
  2. History of India and Indian National Movement.
  3. Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
  4. Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights issues, etc.
  5. Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
  6. General issues on environmental ecology, Bio-Diversity, and Climate Change- that do not require subject specialization.
  7. General Science.

Note: 30-35% of questions in General Studies Paper I will be related to Assam.

General Studies Paper II

Syllabus for APSC Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination:

  1. Comprehension.
  2. Interpersonal skills including communication skills.
  3. Logical reasoning and analytical ability.
  4. Decision-making and problem-solving.
  5. General mental ability.
  6. Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data Interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc.) (Class X level)

Note: Paper II will be the qualifying paper minimum qualifying marks are 33%.

APSC Mains Syllabus & Exam Pattern

APSC Main Exam Syllabus Details: The APSC main examination is the second the toughest stage of the APSC CCE Exam. Candidates have to write essay-type question answers as well as MCQs in the main exam. The Commission will draw a list of candidates to be qualified for the CCE Main Examination based on the criterion of minimum qualifying marks of 33% in General Studies Paper II of the CCE Preliminary Examination and total qualifying marks of General Studies Paper-I of the CCE Preliminary Examination.

APSC Main Exam Syllabus: There are a total of 6 papers in the APSC CCE Mains Exam. The APSC Mains exam (Paper 1) is an essay writing test.
