Assam Saurav Award Benefits
The Assam Saurav Award carries a financial component of Rs. 4 lakh with a citation or certificate or medal.
Assam Saurav Awardee also gets the following facilities:
- Free Medical Treatment in Government hospitals and stay in paying cabins, wherever available.
- They will be provided free accommodation in State Government Circuit Houses, Guest Houses, and Assam Bhawans.
- They will be regular invitees for all the official functions as distinguished guests.
- The Government of Assam will provide up to Rs. 2 lakh for medical expenses towards their treatment of critical diseases.
- Over and above the provision for award money and certain facilities to recipients, free travel will also be permitted to awardees in ASTC buses, provided they give 24-hour prior information of the proposed journey.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on January 16 announced the names of the recipients of Assam’s Highest Civilian Awards for the year 2023. The Assam Govt has announced the second-highest civilian award Assam Saurav Award 2023 to a total of 4 persons including:
- Ace Swimmer Elvis Ali Hazarika
- Sprinter Hima Das.
- Archaeologist Kishan Chand Nauriyal
- Tiwa dance exponent Nandiram Deuri.

Swimmer Elvis Hazarika and athlete Hima Das will be conferred with the second highest civilian Award the Assam Saurav Award for their immense contribution to the field of sports. Cultural heritage management experts Kishan Chand Nauriyal and Tiwa dance exponent Nandiram Deuri are the other two awardees in this segment
The recipients of Assam’s Highest Civilian Award for 2023 will be conferred their respective awards during a formal award ceremony that will be held on 10 February 2024. The Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria will present at the occasion. The Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankar will attend the programme as a Chief Guest.
