IT Park Kokrajhar
It’s a proud moment for the Assam, as we got another IT park in Assam, this time, the new IT park was built and opened in the Kokrajhar district of Assam.
Kokrajhar town is the headquarter of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) administration.
The Information Technology (IT) Park has been formally inaugurated at Chandmari, Kokrajhar district of BTR by Assam CM, Himanta Biswa Sharma in presence of BTR chief, Pramod Boro, and other ministers of state on Saturday, 18 Dec 2021.
Kokrajhar IT Park
The Technology park in Kokrajhar was developed by the BTC government. The foundation stone was laid during the BTAD government and inaugurated during the BTR government.
The people of BTR under the BTC government got their first IT park, it’s a great step towards IT sector development in Bodoland. The Information Technology park in Kokrajhar will help the people of the five districts of BTR namely, Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Udalguri, and Tamulpur in setting up their IT startups. Also, the existing companies can approach the BTC government for setting up their IT offices in the IT park.

IT Park Kokrajhar Foundation
The IT Park project in Kokrajhar district was taken up a decade ago during the BTAD government, the ex-CEM of BTC, Hagrama Mohilary laid the foundation stone of the IT park at Ontaigwlao, Chandmari, Kokrajhar district in 2011 itself.
The proposed budget for the IT park was 26 crores at that time, which was to be used from the BTC special package.

After a decade, in 2021, the Assam CM, Himanta Biswa Sharma formally inaugurated the IT Park in presence of the present CEM of the BTC, Pramod Bodo.

The newly built and inaugurated IT Park in Bodoland will benefit the BTR people in a lot of ways, such as:
- It will help promote IT and help IT Startups in Assam, especially the BTR region.

You must be wondering what is the budget allocated for building the proud IT Park in the BTR region. As per the various sources, we have collected online, there is two budget we came across.
- During the IT park foundation stone laid down by the ex-CEM of BTC, Hagrama Mohilary a decade agaon during their BTAD government, the budget was said to be 26 crores, which was to be taken from the BTC special package.
- During the inauguration of the IT park by the Assam CM, Himanta Biswa Sharma in presence of the current CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro on 18 Dec 2021, the budget was said to be 34 crores.

How Technology Park of Kokrajhar will Help Us?
Now the bigger question is how will the technology park will help the people of the BTR. So far, we don’t have any details about the same as the BTC government has not shared any info regarding the same.
Also, we don’t know whether the Kokrajhar technology park is operational or not. How companies or startups can approach them if they want to set up their offices at the IT park. A lot of questions remain unanswered.
