Upendra Nath Brahma Soldier of Humanity Award 2023: The Upendra Nath Brahma Trust (UNBT) has conferred the 20th Bodofa UN Brahma Soldier of Humanity Award 2023 to Ramon Magsaysay awardee Mr. Sonam Wangchuk on 23rd December 2023 at the ceremonial program held at Bodofa Cultural complex in Kokrajhar.
Upendra Nath Brahma Soldier of Humanity Award 2023
The Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma Trust was established in July 1999 in memory of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU). The Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma Soldier of Humanity of Humanity Award has been conferred every year by the UNB Trust Kokrajhar since 2004. This award is presented from the Bodos in the name of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, former president of the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU). He is also the Father of Bodo.
Upendra Nath Brahma Soldier of Humanity Award is conferred in honour of the outstanding work and contribution towards to uplift of mankind, especially, for the downtrodden people of the world. This year Mr. Sonam Wangchuk awarded the Upendra Nath Brahma Soldier of Humanity Award 2023.
The 20th Upendra Nath Brahma Soldier of Humanity Award 2023 has conferred on 23rd December 2023 to Ramon Magsaysay awardee Sonam Wangchuk. The event was started on 10:00 AM onwards at Bodofa Cultural Complex, Chandamari Kokrajhar, BTR. The Presentation event was chaired by Dr. Surath Narzary, Hon’ble President of Bodo Sahitya Sabha and the occasion was graced by Prasanta Jyoti Baruah, Executive Editor of The Assam Tribune as the chief guest, the CEM of BTR Pramod Boro as inaugurator and Cabinet Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma aws also be a part of the occasion as an appointed speaker.

Sonam Wangchuk is an Indian Engineer, Innovator, and Education Reformist who belongs to Ladakh. Sonam Wangchuk is an award-winning environmentalist, educationist, and the man behind countless reforms and initiatives. His reforms had a great impact on an inhuman education system, highlighting a major issue of social pressure on students of India. He was awarded various prestigious awards including Ramon Magsaysay in 2018.
