Apurna Narzary was Nominated BTR Emerging Player Award for 2022-23

BTR Emerging Player Award 2022-23: The Indian International Women Footballer Apurna Narzary was nominated as “Emerging Player” for 2022-23 by the BTR government’s Department of Sports & Youth Welfare.

Apurna Narzary belonging to the Bodo community (ST tribe), is a daughter of Biswajit Narzary from a small village Khagrabari in the Kokrajhar district. She started her professional career at the SAI training centre of Kokrajhar, and after that, she started playing for India’s national team representing India in many international football events, including Bangladesh, Thailand, Qatar and other countries.

BTR Emerging Player Award

The Sports & Youth Welfare department of the BTR government started a NEW award for the sports personnel in 2022. The award is called Emerging Player of BTR. In this emerging player is selected in recognition of the sports personalities performing their talents in various sports disciplines in the national and international arena.

The emerging player award of BTR comprises a citation, traditional Aronai and cash of Rs. 2 Lakh.

For the 2022-23 last fiscal year, the Executive member for the sports & youth welfare department of BTR, Daobaisa Boro, announced the nomination of Apurna Narzary as “Emerging Player” in recognition of her excellency performance in the International Football event.

The Govt of BTR will confer the ’emerging player award’ for the first ever to footballer Apurna Narzary on Friday (14th April) during the ongoing Baokhungri Festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar.
